Catalyzing Cross-Border Leadership in Compliance, Governance & Ethics
The Executive Forum on Strategic Compliance (West Africa)
Eunomia Risk Advisory proudly convened the inaugural Executive Forum on Strategic Compliance (West Africa), a high-level gathering aimed at elevating Africa’s leadership in ethical compliance, governance, and risk innovation. The Forum was held on June 26, 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, Ghana.
This landmark event brought together over 80 senior leaders across governance, compliance, and risk—including representatives from regulatory bodies, legal teams, fintech, the private sector, and regional reform efforts. It sparked ongoing collaboration and policy dialogue, establishing the Forum as a catalyst for cross-sector change in West Africa and setting the stage for even deeper engagement.
More than a knowledge-sharing platform, the Forum served as a space for strategic problem-solving and candid dialogue—focused on addressing systemic governance challenges through bold, localized solutions.
Key Themes and Strategic Topics
The Forum addressed a range of urgent and forward-looking topics at the intersection of governance, risk, and ethics. Sessions explored how institutions are strengthening their enforcement strategies to tackle financial crime — including money laundering, corruption, and sanctions violations — with a focus on cross-border coordination and regulatory resilience.
Leaders examined emerging approaches to data protection and cybersecurity oversight, recognizing these as critical levers for public trust and operational continuity. The conversation also turned to ESG and sustainability, emphasizing the importance of embedding these priorities into the design of compliance programs rather than treating them as standalone obligations.
With volatility on the rise, discussions on financial risk planning in dynamic and high-growth markets took center stage, alongside dialogue on ethical leadership, whistle-blower protections, and the organizational structures needed to support them. The Forum closed with a look ahead — addressing how institutions can prepare for the regulatory disruption AI is already beginning to trigger.
